About

Hello! My name is Amanda, and I go by Mandy. I have years of experience working with children who have different functional challenges and I have experienced amazing clinical outcomes in a variety of positions. I have learned from SPED teachers, therapists, caseworkers, and clients themselves about how to serve diverse individuals and their families. I am passionate about seeing others succeed. I want to become a mental health counselor who is capable of empowering individuals of all ages to reach their goals and improve their self-efficacy in all areas of their lives. Thank you for considering contributing to my success!

Goals and interests

Career goal

I currently work as a Rehabilitation Specialist in Oregon's Intensive In-home Behavioral Treatment (IIBHT) Program.
I have been amazed and honored to contribute to the amazing clinical outcomes this program has celebrated. I plan to
become a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and continue working for the IIBHT program as a Family Therapist at
Options for Southern Oregon where I am currently employed. I would also like to become trained in EMDR therapy and
gain more experience supporting adults since my background is primarily with children.

Graduate school interests

I will graduate from Liberty Univerity with a BS in Psychology in December of 2022. I have already applied to two graduate programs after extensive research and I believe I will be accepted by both of them. I
applied at Bradley University and St. Bonaventure University because I believe both programs will prepare me to support
people from diverse populations and I will be equipped to pass the exam and become a Licensed Therapist.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy reading non-fiction, cooking, exercise, and spending time with family and friends. My husband and I just adopted
our 8-year old son through the foster-care system and we had a baby boy this year. Between my family, work,
and school, I am busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. My life is very fulfilling.
