Goals and interests

Career goal

I want to work in Washington, D.C. I see myself working for a non-profit or doing social policy advocacy. I want to promote better educational, employment, and health opportunities for Hispanics, children with disabilities, and veterans (maybe I’ll be elected to office since many U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives are social workers). I also want to have the opportunity to travel abroad because I feel like there are skills that you gain and learn only through an international experience and I certainly will have an advantage over others because of traveling abroad. I’ll have a better knowledge of laws, regulations, customs, and traditions of another country, which other candidates may not have and working in Washington, D.C., you have to know what’s happening in the world or at least have a travel experience. Furthermore, I would like

Graduate school interests

I want to pursue my Masters either in Social Work at NC State University or at University of Southern California or in Interpretation and Translation at Wake Forest University. I want to gain from either field is building my leadership skills and improve my Spanish-speaking skills and my gaining more confidence to redefine my role from student to professional and also, to get potential job offers.

Outside the classroom

I like to bungee jump, hike, swim, rock climb, and zip line in my spare time. I love spending time with my family and friends, which includes hosting family reunions and cookouts, going to the beach, and playing soccer together. I've recently into photography and making vinyl monogram decals.
