About

My name is Ana Cristina Flores and I have always been the type of person to have goals. Not only do goals continue to push me forward, but they also strive me to be a better person. I believe that no matter how good you may be at something, there is always room for improvement. Criticism should not be taken negatively, but instead looked at in a positive way.
Some background information about me includes the following: I was born in Monterrey, Mexico on November 11th, 1991. I moved to the United States at the age of eight knowing absolutely no English! This was a very hard part of my childhood, but it definitely molded me into the person that I am today. I attended a Christian school my entire life and I was constantly involved in mission trips to Mexico. These experiences were amazing because I not only was able to connect with the people, but also be a translator. I graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA. After I graduated, I had no doubt in my mind what I was passionate about, and that was children. I continued my education at Athens Technical College with an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Throughout my education at Athens tech, I was asked to perform numerous hours of classroom time for my practicum and internship. This was my favorite part of my entire degree because I was able to gain so many hands on experiences. After I graduated from Athens tech, I had some trouble trying to figure out where I wanted to continue my education, however as soon as I spoke to some advisors from Piedmont College I had no doubt that this was the perfect school for me. Not only did Piedmont College make me feel really comfortable, but they also made me feel like I was not just a number to them. I like the fact that Piedmont College is not that big because I know that I will be able to get more one on one help in the classroom. I look forward to continue my education and be an elementary teacher one day!
