About
Hi I'm Angelika, I graduated from Colegio Adianez in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico and will be attending Purdue University this fall. I am majoring in Biology with a possible minor in Psychology. I hope to participate in clubs and organizations that complement my other interests and help shape me into a better individual and intellectual. I am on the journey of studying medicine, and hope to be able to help other people in the future. I aspire to continue participating in leadership positions at university. I love to go outdoors and spend time with family in my free time, as well as working with animals.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I plan on completing my bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology and attend Medical School on the path of becoming a general surgeon or neurologist. I still have a very open and broad view on what I would like to specialize in, but I still have about eight years ahead of me to explore and exploit all my viable options.

- Outside the classroom
I enjoy drawing and painting, it helps me relax and express my feelings in a healthy and creative way. I love cooking with all my heart, although I prefer cooking for myself, I occasionally flaunt my cooking skills in family dinners. I have played volleyball for about 7 years now, I will always love the sport even if I won't play it anymore. I like running very early, something about running feels so liberating and freeing, besides at that time of the day the air is so crisp and fresh, which I also enjoy. I am a full time rescue assistant for stray/feral cats. I love animals and working with them and hope to continue volunteering with them in the future. I love the outdoors, whether it's finding new river spots or hidden beaches, camping or just admiring a sunset is the absolute best feeling.
Volunteering
-
I am a volunteer for TNR events since 2019. We perform TNR on all cat colonies, which is a process of trap, neuter, return. This is used to control animal overpopulation and if possible, vaccinate most of them. This is done on other animals too, I just like to focus on cats because they are more commonly mistreated in the streets than other animals. I've also worked with pigs and dogs. Most rescuers try to foster these animals and make them more "domestic" in order to find them a forever home, but the amount of animals in the streets outweighs us.
