About

I am currently a senior at Six Rivers Charter High School in Northern California, and I am getting ready to graduate number two in my class. After high school, I am going to study Viticulture and Enology at the University of California at Davis. Every summer for as long as I can remember I have been going to my aunt and uncle's property in Durham, California where they have their vineyard, tasting room, winery, and wedding venue, all on one property. It has been my favorite place since I was young, and have dreamed of having something like it of my own one day, and that is why I have decided to study Viticulture and Enology and minor in business. During my time in high school, I have been very involved in many extracurricular, and the primary one being Journalism and being the Editor in Chief of the Newspaper and Newsletter. Being apart of something as special as that has made me want to minor in business not only to fall back on but because I enjoy business and marketing. I love Journalism and everything that comes with it, it has opened many doors for me in many different ways, and I hope to continue that in college as well as in my career. I have chosen to attend UC Davis in the fall because it is a great agricultural school and has a very strong Viticulture and Enology program and it is also not too far from home and very close to my aunt and uncle who I plan to possibly intern within the summers and weekends when I can.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After I obtain my degree I would like to enter into the wine industry and eventually own and run my own vineyard/winery/tasting room, work on my aunt and uncles, or work for someone else's successful business.

Outside the classroom

Although I have taken Journalism in school it has also become my hobby outside of school, I have wrote for a local news outlet, as well as startup youth newsletter. Writing has become a hobby, talking, listening, and writing down others' stories and perspectives. I also love photography and taking pictures. Pictures of nature, landscapes, animals, and my friends, anything I find beautiful. I also love traveling, I haven't been to many places but I am young and anything is possible, and I would love to travel all around the world. I love trying new things and I can't wait to find more hobbies in college.
