Anna Byrd

I am currently a freshmen at Bluegrass Community and Technical College where I am studying elementary education. I am one of seven children in my my family. Growing up in a large family and being one of the oldest has contributed to my love for children. I love helping and teaching younger kids. They are so ready to learn and absorb great amounts of information. Kids curiosity and desire to discover everything inspires me personally to always strive to keep learning and exploring. I chose Bluegrass Community and Technical College because I wanted to save money for my future education and for traveling which I have always wanted to do. I also chose this school because I care about my education a great deal. This school is smaller which gives more one on one opportunities with my professors. I went to The Lexington Latin School for my high school education, which is a smaller private classical school. Going to Bluegrass was an excellent transition. In high school I played softball in a fast pitch league. I love sports and growing up being a big UK basketball fan. I love animals and have had many dogs growing up. I have always wanted to travel and plan on doing many mission trips along with studying abroad.
