About

I completed my associate's degree of arts at Pierce College in Tacoma, WA in June 2015 with a 3.9 cumulative GPA. I’ll receive my Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisville in May 2018 then will apply for admission to a Developmental Psychology PhD program the following fall semester of 2018. I plan on exploring development in context: specifically how factors including but not limited to literacy, poverty, parental and peer relational attachment, cultural influences, and other early factors in development affect the course of a child’s path toward adulthood. After completing my higher education, I hope to teach at the University level and continue to conduct research within the field of contextual development with the goal of contributing insight through research that directly informs the way public policy, social assistance programs, and educational institutions serve children and their families experiencing specific circumstances with developmental consequences.

I'm applying to grad school for fall 2018. My program of greatest interest in the University of Maryland's developmental psychology PhD program in College Park, MD where my faculty member of interest is Jude Cassidy. She heads the Maryland Child and Family Development Lab and her research encompasses socio-emotional development from infancy through adolescence and early interventions for attachment based pathology. I'm applying to several other grad programs in developmental psychology including ones at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec and The University of Southern California.
