About
When I reflect on my high school years, I realize how many challenges I overcame. A global pandemic my freshman year transformed my academic endeavors to an online platform. Adhering to the social distancing requirements, my extracurricular activities abruptly ended, and I felt isolated. My cousin, who I grew up with, fell victim to depression, and he committed suicide early on a Tuesday morning. The very next day, still in the initial grieving stage, the small town where I grew up received a pre-evacuation order due to the Troublesome Fire. Wrestling with the circumstances of the new virus, the loss of my cousin, and the fear of losing my childhood home was exacerbated by the stresses of online school. These circumstances taught me the importance of perseverance and the preciousness of life.
