Ashley Carman

I have always enjoyed learning and going to school, but I've started to notice that I always do better academically when I'm involved with organizations/clubs. My freshman year in high school I joined the HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) club. I started a pep squad my sophomore year(we won every pep rally following), and I was involved with Young Life(Christian organization). I had many babysitting jobs throughout high school and still today. I got my first job at World Outreach Church my junior year in high school, was an EPIC mentor to incoming freshman, and joined student council. My senior year I became a board member of HOSA club, did a clinical internship at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro/Stone crest in Smyrna, participated in a school play and joined our first hip-hop only dance team at Blackman high. Needless to say, I like to stay busy and contribute the best I can to my community. And when I get passionate about one thing sometimes I fall short in other areas of my life, like my grades perhaps. I have my good and my not so good semesters. The hardest reality for me has been general education classes, I only enjoyed my english and art oriented classes. Its hard to try when you don't care, right? Now that I'm just about done with my gen eds I'm really excited to finish up college taking classes I should enjoy, that pertain to my major. I'm hoping my hard work will pay off and being apart of the Honor Society will help along the way.
