About
I am a wife, and a mother of two, so I'm not a traditional student. I graduated from Hernando High School in 2007. I attained my associate degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College. My major was pre-pharmacy. I only completed one semester at Ole Miss before getting married and starting a family.
I tried to finish school and be a mom, but it was harder than I thought. For a while, I became a stay-at-home mom. I love being a mom. The best part about being a mom is being present for your kids. I enjoyed volunteering at the school, field trips, and traveling with my husband’s job.
In 2019, when my youngest daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia, I decided it was time to come back to school. My daughter’s dyslexia therapist told me about the Dyslexia Therapy M.ED. program at Mississippi College. After speaking to Mrs. Shirley Tipton, I was sure this is what I wanted to do.
I attained my bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss May of 2021 with a major of Multidisciplinary Studies. My minors were English, Education, and Psychology. I am so excited to continue this adventure here at Mississippi College.
