About
I am a non traditional student and a single mother of three small children. I already have an Associates Degree in General Education and I have earned my Certificate of Proficiency in Nursing Assistant as well as completing my state board exam and receiving my CNA license.
As a high school student I was an active member of the Beta Club, a member of NSHSS, and I was awarded the Goldsby Award Scholarship for Concurrent Students. By the time I graduated high school, I had completed my entire freshman year of college and entered UCA as a Sophomore where I was awarded the President's Scholarship, covering my tuition and board. Unfortunately, due to serious health complications and hinderance from family, I was forced to put my education on hold and settle for an Associates Degree in General Education.
Since returning to college in the spring of 2015, I achieved a 3.8 and have continued to keep a 3.6 GPA despite the circumstances I am faced with daily. I am extremely determined and motivated to succeed. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to acquire my PHD and instruct students all while taking care of and providing for my children.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I plan on completing the traditional RN program and furthering my education thereafter until I earn my PHD in Nursing. While on the journey to gaining my degree, I hope to have a positive impact on patients, their families, and their friends, giving them a better understanding of what healthcare should be and restoring their faith in healthcare professionals. I have my sights set on becoming an instructor because I want to encourage students to follow their dreams as well as to teach them the incredible value of education.
- Graduate school interests
I want to further my education towards earning my PHD in Nursing.
- Outside the classroom
I love to spend time with my 3 kiddos. I have a 6, a 5, and a 2 year old. I never take anything for granted and am so thankful for every day that i get to spend with them. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and shopping. Of course, I love school and it has taken the front seat when it comes to hobbies and will continue to be the highlight of my hobbies for many years to come. My family has gone through many struggles the last several years. Everything from having my last child at only 27 weeks and only weighing 2 Ib 12oz, many hospital stays and multiple surgeries, to living with and finally escaping an abusive relationship. Now that I am a single parent with no outside help from my ex, I have been able to enroll back in college and start rebuilding my family's foundation.
