About

My name is Augie Giambrone and I’m nineteen years old. Currently, I am enrolled at Northern Kentucky University as a declared Media Informatics major and a Japanese Studies minor. In the spring of 2015, I graduated from Archbishop McNicholas high school in Cincinnati, Ohio with a 4.0 GPA. I was first interested in film making and video editing, but later, changed my interests to video game design. That is what led me to become a Media Informatics major and take the 3D design and web design paths. The reason why I am a Japanese minor is because I really wanted to be bi-lingual. Before Japanese, I took Spanish for nine years, but lost interest. I would like to become fluent and learn a lot about the culture and history of Japan. Outside of school, I like to work on video game creations and videos. I am also in a band called Spearpoint where I play the guitar. We’ve been playing for almost nine years now, and I’ve been playing the guitar for almost fourteen. Spearpoint is my favorite hobby. As for future careers, I would like to work for either Ubisoft or Bethesda Game Studios as an environmental artist. I would also love to create my own independent game company in the future.

Goals and interests

Career goal

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Informatics, I plan to become either a video game designer, web designer, or an app developer. Also, with a minor in Japanese studies, I would like to try and become either a translator, an English teacher, or work with Nintendo in Japan as a video game designer. I am currently in my own band called "Spearpoint," and we hope to continue to grow and get more popular. That would be another job that I would love to have.

Graduate school interests

I'm thinking about going to grad school after I finish my undergrad and study Computer Science at possibly Northern Kentucky University or the University of Cincinnati.

Outside the classroom

My favorite hobbies are playing music, creating video games, and editing videos/film making. I am in my own rock band named Spearpoint in which I play the guitar and sing. Playing in my band is one of my favorite things to do. I have been playing guitar for the past 14 years, and I also play the piano, drums, bass, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica, and I sing.
