Goals and interests

Career goal

I intend to pursue a career in structural engineering, where I can apply my knowledge of engineering principles to the design and analysis of safe, efficient, and resilient structures. My internship experience has strengthened my understanding of the construction process and provided valuable exposure to how engineering designs are implemented in the field. Working alongside industry professionals has expanded my knowledge and made me aware of the amount of nuances and different situations that are possible in the industry. This has only made my interest in structural engineering increase as the relationship between construction and structural design was made clear to me. This experience has motivated me to continue developing the technical and practical skills needed to become a successful structural engineer.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree in structural engineering to further develop my knowledge in structural analysis, design, and advanced engineering principles. Graduate school would allow me to build upon the technical foundation from my undergraduate education and the practical knowledge gained through my internship experience. I am particularly interested in advanced structural design, seismic engineering, and the design of large-scale buildings and infrastructure. My goal is to use graduate education to prepare for greater technical responsibilities, pursue professional licensure, and build a long-term career as a structural engineer.

Outside the classroom

Some of my hobbies include weightlifting, hiking, and playing soccer. I believe in order to live an optimal lifestyle, the physical attributes must developed as well as the academic. I have done these hobbies since I was a child, and they have provided a balance in my life that has allowed me to successfully juggle a student and work life simultaneously.
