Austin Perkins

Hello everyone! My name is Austin Perkins, and I am double majoring in Finance & Accounting. My current GPA is 3.63 and while I am studying finance and accounting at UTA, I’ve been learning many of my skills required for my career in financial analysis, accounting, problem solving, and calculus business. Taking some of the more difficult courses such as business calculus, and english comp has actually helped my learning skills when research, analysis, and professional communication is needed.
During college I've taken measures to strengthen both my academic and professional background by actively seeking Finance and Accounting internships in order to get real-world financial and business experience. I hope to get a career in the Finance & Accounting industries while enhancing my technical and interpersonal expertise.
Along with my classwork, I've been actively working on strengthening both my knowledge of finance as well as making myself financial more independent. Learning about handling my personal finances, credit, budgeting, as well as making big financial purchases has allowed me to develop practical, responsible skills on top of the knowledge I was learning inside class, influencing both my ambition in gaining the financial literacy of other young adults, and how they manage their money more personally.
My academic prowess has also been recognized by honors and collegiate organizations; I have been invited to honors programs at UTA's College of business as well as an invitation from National Society of Collegiate scholars. I believe it is the sign of the education I've been able to contribute, as well as a push for me to continue learning at more elevated and rigorous degrees.
My experience at UTA is preparing me as strongly as I possibly could prepare myself, for a finance & accounting career.
