Goals and interests

Career goal

I am drawn to a career in marine mammal rehabilitation due to my deep passion for marine conservation. The prospect of rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating these creatures aligns perfectly with my commitment to wildlife welfare. I am eager to contribute hands-on efforts in the immediate response to stranded or injured marine mammals and to work collaboratively with experts in providing essential medical care. This career path represents a meaningful way for me to make a direct impact on marine life conservation.

Graduate school interests

My desire to attend UNCW for graduate school stems from a passion for the convergence of marine biology and music performance. The unique blend of rigorous scientific exploration and artistic expression is what drives my academic interests.

Choosing to major in marine biology at UNCW aligns perfectly with my fascination for marine ecosystems and the diverse life they encompass. The university's coastal location, coupled with its renowned programs, promises an immersive and hands-on learning experience. I am eager to delve into topics ranging from marine ecology to conservation, contributing to my comprehensive understanding of the marine world.

Simultaneously, my decision to minor in music performance reflects my commitment to maintaining a balanced and well-rounded academic journey. I believe that combining the analytical skills fostered in marine biology with the creativity nurtured in music will provide a unique perspective to approach scientific challenges.

UNCW's dedication to marine science, along with the opportunity to engage in music performance, presents an ideal environment for me to pursue my academic passions. I look forward to the interdisciplinary possibilities and personal growth that this dual focus will offer, making my graduate school experience at UNCW both enriching and fulfilling.

Outside the classroom

In my personal pursuits, I deeply engage in both the arts and crafts and music as essential hobbies. Music holds a special place in my heart, serving not only as a source of entertainment but also as a means of self-expression and emotional release. I actively participate in musical endeavors, including roles as Vice-President, first chair, and section leader in the orchestra, showcasing my dedication and leadership within a musical context.

On the artistic side, I am an avid enthusiast of arts and crafts. Whether it's painting, drawing, or engaging in DIY projects, this hobby provides a valuable outlet for creativity and relaxation. Beyond its inherent enjoyment, my involvement in arts and crafts highlights my commitment to maintaining a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.

These hobbies are not just leisure activities for me; they contribute significantly to my personal growth, stress relief, and overall well-being. By incorporating both music and arts and crafts into my routine, I aim to bring a unique perspective, creativity, and passion to every aspect of my life.
