About
My name is Ayesha Asquith. I was born in Jamaica, and reside in Bronx NY from the age of 8 years old. I am currently graduating with a associate degree from Suny Broome Community College where I studied Criminal Justice. I will then transfer and attend Clark Atlanta University to continue studying Criminal Justice. I grew up in a rough and poverty neighborhood in both Jamaica and the Bronx NY. A lot of things that I have seen growing up pushed me to become something great in life. I have had a great amount of obstacles that came into my life, and I worked extremely hard to get by it. I grew up without my mother, but with my father, stepmother and siblings. Growing up without my biological mother in the same country as me was a challenge in which it made me act out in school at a young age until I was able to realize that it only make things harder on myself. I have had different jobs since the age of 16, trying to make ends meet for myself because my father had a lot of us to provide for. It was hard to maintain while attending school during those years, but I accomplished it. Attending college away from home on campus molded me to become more independent and it was a eye opener. Many students that attended the college along with me will not graduate on time as I am because of the distractions, but with that I still strived higher. Its a honor to join the honor society because I worked hard to earn it. Having someone notice my accomplishment means a lot to me.
