About (Summary)

My family has always been very hard working and that is where my motivation stems from. They have worked so hard just to barely make ends meet. A lot of sacrifices have been made for our dreams to become realities. My family is from Haiti so we come from a place of struggle. I have always been taught not to take anything for granted and how can I when in Haiti, we only have power for half of a day and have to bathe outside? In Elementary school, I found an outlet joining clubs and sports. I had so much and so it continued into middle school. Well, naturally that went into high school where I was part of ten organizations. I had the time of my life and I am grateful to my parents who supported me along the way. I always knew I wanted to be a physician (well let me not say always because when I was five, I wanted to be a ballerina!) and have since then been trying to work into making that dream a reality. When I got into college, it was a big deal being that I was the first one to ever attend and I can now say complete. Of course, I was still in a lot of clubs and organizations. I took a big hit in undergrad when the earthquake in Haiti took several of my family members. It took three semesters to try to get my G.P.A. back up. So no, the road has not been easy but there is no giving up. Fast forwarding to today, my master's program is helping me to grow and mature and is bringing me closer my ultimate goal. I'll start applying to medical schools this year as I wrap things up for a Spring 2015 graduation!
