About

I am a resilient, purpose-driven graduate student with a strong commitment to academic excellence, service, and social impact. As a first-generation student, my journey has been shaped by perseverance and a deep desire to uplift others. Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to work as a professional social worker committed to creating sustainable, community-centered impact. I aim to work across multiple practice areas, including child welfare, youth development, adult services, and aging populations. My goal is not only to provide direct support, but to design and implement programs that empower individuals and communities to become self-sustaining, and resilient.

Graduate school interests

My interest in graduate school is centered on building strong research and leadership skills that will enable me to design and implement evidence-based programs and interventions. I am particularly interested in collaborating with professors whose research aligns with my interests, especially those who have experience working in or are currently making an impact in African contexts, in order to deepen my understanding of cross-cultural practice and sustainable social development.

Outside the classroom

In my free time, I enjoy activities that promote continuous learning and personal development. I enjoy reading and watching educational content, particularly materials that expose me to new ideas and practical knowledge. I am highly self-directed and enjoy teaching myself new skills through online platforms and social media, including practical skills such as hair braiding. I find fulfillment in learning skills that help me save time and money. Additionally, I enjoy exploring new places and meeting new people.
