About

My name is Benja Hasemann, and I am a 20 year old girl from Germany. I was born and raised in the nothern part of the country, close to the coast. When I was 18, after I finished my Abitur in Germany, I took a gap year and worked as an au pair in the US for 1 1/2 years. This time resulted in personal growth and made me more determined for my future. I went to Houston Community College for 1 semester and fell in love with Anthropology. And this made me want to solidify my studies by becoming an international student in the US. Recently I got admitted to my dream university Texas Tech where I will pursue my bachelors degree in Anthropology. I am looking forward to learning about the rich history of the Americas and to further my knowledge in how we humans evolved over the years.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After finishing my bachelors degree in Anthropology I would like to work in a national park as a park ranger, more specifically as an interpretations officer.

Outside the classroom

The Hobby that I spend most of my free time on is writting. I enjoy thinking of stories that bring me joy and hopefully will also bring joy to the readers one day when I would be ready to publish. Especially fun is the research part. I spend hours at a time reading through encyclopedias in the library. Another hobby I like doing in my free time is crafting. Hand made cards for birthdays or holidays always paint a smile on the face of the people I care about.
And lastly, a hobby I enjoy doing with friends is linedancing. I have come to love it when I first joined classes in Texas.
