About

I am currently a Biology student in the physician assistant pathway at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, GA. I am studying to be a physician assistant and specialize in either pediatric oncology or neurology. I was born in Longwood, FL where my dad worked for SunTrust bank and my mom was a teacher. Right before I started Elementary school, my father was transferred to Atlanta and we have lived in Georgia since. Growing up I have always known I have wanted to be in the medical field, not knowing what I would do, but I have always loved helping people. My great grandma on my grandfather' side was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was really young and she died when I was seven. Then my grandmother on my father's side was diagnosed with cancer in her lymph nodes which transferred to her brain and she died when I was sixteen. Lastly on grandma on my mother's side was diagnosed with skin cancer around the same time my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, but thankfully she beat the disease. These past experiences are the reasons why I have chosen these fields I am deciding to go into. In high school was a member of HOSA and competed in state for medical terminology. I also was apart of the Medical explorers, an exclusive program that the Gwinnet Medical Hospital offered juniors and seniors to discover many careers in the medical pathway. In high school I was also apart of National Honor Society and BETA club for my grades throughout the years. I choose to attend UNG because of their outstanding biology program and to be an atmosphere where I could get to know my teachers and fellow classmates.
