About

I am currently a graduate student at University of Houston Clear Lake in the Education Department working on my School Library and Information Science degree. I am maintaining a 4.0 while working full time as an Elementary librarian on a waiver with the state of Texas. My personal achievements include completing The Texas Reading Academy (simultaneously), managing a leadership role on my campus with the curriculum department's instructional coaches, and transforming how the library is utilized at the elementary level on my campus. I was voted by my colleagues as "Staff Member of the Month" in September and have been complimented on how I have brought life into the library and transformed how students feel about going to the library. I am working closely with community businesses and created incentive programs to promote literacy in homes and on campus. My personal kids see how hard I am working on my career goals and are proud of me for going back to school at my age. My hope is that they see me as an inspiration.
