Catherine Greder

I have always wanted to work in public safety, in an administrative capacity. I am fortunate to be doing just that. Due to starting in this career at such a young age, I will retire before turning 55. I have several goals, in addition to a 30-year career in public service. I am avidly pursuing a part-time adjunct position teaching public administration. I have a passion for education and want to help groom the incoming classes of public servants. I also hope to build and sustain a successful business helping local communities support their local businesses.

I am currently dual enrolled in both a Master's in Criminal Justice and Master's in Business Administration at East Carolina University. In addition to these two degrees, I am also pursuing a certificate in Criminal Justice Education and a graduate certificate in Marketing.

I have been very fortunate to experience great travel opportunities and have a goal of visiting all 50 states by the time I turn 35. I've visited 24 states so far. The challenges of 2020 have derailed my plan to visit three more states this year, so hopefully in 2021, I will be able to visit 6+. While traveling, I love to capture photos of all of God's incredible creations. We live in such a beautiful country with a real variety of landscapes and capturing photos of my travels is so important to me. Besides traveling and photography, I love sports and cars. I've owned several sports cars and even won 1st place at a car show in 2014. I also thoroughly love to work. In 2018, I started a small business that focuses on helping other local businesses grow. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are learning to pivot from in-person events to an online platform. I'm excited to bring this dream to life, despite all of the challenges we've faced this year.
