About

I cannot imagine a life where I am no longer learning. School has been a passion of mine since I can remember and as I've grown older and taken more classes the feeling remains. As a high school senior, I've already had the privilege of taking college courses in psychology, biology and human anatomy, composition, creative writing, health sciences, and more. I'm eager, excited, and ready to take on anything that life throws at me. Once I decided to become a Certified Professional Midwife everything seemed to come together. Medicine is constantly changing and there are so many opportunities not only to learn but to teach. Once certified my dream is to travel to less fortunate countries in order to train midwives where they are most needed. In many countries in South Asia, Africa, and Latin America it is not likely that a woman can give birth in the presence of a medical professional, but maybe one day that will be changed.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am going to work towards a future where I am a Certified Professional Midwife and continue education into public health, health administration, or nonprofit leadership. I am passionate about advocating for women's health especially in areas that lack resources. Working with populations prone to high maternal and fetal mortality rates due to insufficient medical personnel, lack of clean water and little to no sterilized equipment is what I see myself doing for the rest of my life.

Graduate school interests

I will one day complete a Master's degree in public health from a respected school such as the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Purdue University Global, University of Pheonix, etc.

Outside the classroom

Ballet dance and performance, learning, mentoring, teaching, and crafting.
