About

I am a non-traditional student returning to college at age 50 to complete my degree. I could have chosen a different path of online classes or accelerated programs that take my business experience into account. However, I chose what I believe is the harder path for me by attending in-person classes at a traditional 4-year university alongside students who are younger than both of my children. Embracing this season of my journey has proven to both challenge and strengthen me. I am challenged by the sheer volume and pace of information I must learn (or relearn) but I am strengthened each time I find myself doing it well.

Goals and interests

Career goal

As I pursue a degree in Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences - Sustainable Landscape Design, I look forward to drawing upon the rhythm of challenge and strength to make a significant career change late in life as a Landscape Designer. My goal is to leverage both my business experience and maturity coupled with a mastery of knowledge in Plant Sciences to significantly impact ecological restoration and combat the effects of climate change.

Graduate school interests

My dream would be to pursue a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
