Christian Nettles

My name is Christian Nettles. I am currently a freshman at North Carolina Central University. I major in Hospitality & Tourism. I am from Charlotte, North Carolina, and attending West Mecklenburg High School, I developed skills that could help me in the future. I've always been in hospitality and tourism. In high school, I would give tours to upcoming freshmen, if we had guest speakers, I would escort them to their destination. At the age of sixteen, I worked at a summer camp and there I learned how to interact with children. Even then, the kids would follow me to different classrooms and places outsides.

I also possess many skills such as interpersonal skills, hospitality skills, and communication skills. I developed these skills at a young age, especially when playing sports and being a good student. Being a good student allowed me to have hospitality skills. Being an athlete allowed me to be a team player and have communication skills. Lastly, being around different people from different atmospheres allowed me to have interpersonal skills such as empathy and leadership.

Some interests of mine include writing, reading, exercising, and being with family and friends. My love for writing started in English class. I would write stories and these stories developed a passion for writing for me. I love reading because it makes me think and develops my brain. Reading up on different topics and genres always have been interesting. Lastly, working out has been vital in my life ever since I was a little kid. Playing sports such as baseball, basketball, football, and soccer, I had to stay in shape. So, I would work out. At first, I thought it was punishment until it became a lifestyle.
