About

I am beyond happy to be culminating next semester my Masters of Science in Education in Literacy, Culture and Language Education. Concurrently, I am pursuing my second Masters in Educational Leadership and International Education. I currently teach 5 courses, 1 Spanish Heritage, 3 ESL, and 1 AP Spanish. I was previously a 4th grade dual language teacher in Indiana's first charter school of its kind. Before then, I was a Spanish Foreign Language Teacher and ESL teacher assistant in New York City where I was raised, and in Indianapolis, where I lived at the present moment. In addition, I possessed a Bachelor's degree in both Sociology and Spanish Literature & Linguistics from City College of New York. My diverse educational background and experiences, have allowed me to take on informal leadership position as instructional coach and manager of testing labs. My desire lies in providing support to teachers on using best practices to ensure students are learning holistically in a culturally responsive environment. As I support my ESL colleagues, and AP Spanish teammate on using strategies and methods to best serve students, I convinced my self of my strong interest in becoming a director of an ESL and/or foreign language program nationally or internationally. Three of my strengths are problem-solving to strategically find the best options to maximizes learning, coupled, with a creative mind to authentically bring learning to life, and the interpersonal skills to empower teachers to reach their optimal self. I love engaging in insightful conversations and exploring all the precious jewels found in diverse cultures.
