About

I am currently attending NHTI as a general education student. My goal is to have a double major of Nursing/Physical Therapy. I love both majors and you take similar classes for both. I don't mind the hard work as long my end result pays off. I enjoy helping people and both of these careers are oriented to do that. There is a lot of healthcare related careers in my family and that inspires me to want to do that also. I will do some internships to see if my mind changes along the way to one of these over the other. I think it will help a lot to see the actual day in and out work of a nurse and that of a physical therapist to help cement a career in my mind. Right now I am sticking with the double major until that happens because I have the support of my family to be able to do so.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I will either become a Registered Nurse or a Physical Therapist. I feel that some internships will help to make up my mind. I have a lot of respect for the people in both fields. I have seen my mom in terrible shape and the work that a physical therapist can do is amazing to bring her back to normal. The same can be said for a great nurse when you are in the hospital where no one truly wants to be. To have great nurses and aids makes your stay much nicer.

Outside the classroom

I have always done sports in my spare time. I have played baseball, football, soccer, and I have a junior black belt in tae kwon doe. I have been thinking about possibly joining the school team at NHTI. I am now too old to play recreational soccer so it could be fun to try out the school team. I also go to the gym with my dad and go walking with my mom to stay in shape.
