Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is to enter into the petroleum industries through being hired into an oil and gas company. I will take courses in Michigan Tech that are useful in the petroleum industries. I will also involve myself in several student organizations that are relevant and beneficial to my professional training, such as reflection seismology, and intro to petroleum engineering. Furthermore, I will use Geophysics to locate oil fields through finding source rock areas below and oil traps above. I will then cooperate with field engineers to develop methods of extracting oil and to refine crude oil into petroleum. Thus, my plan to contribute to the oil and gas industries through using geophysics.

Graduate school interests

I plan to attend grad school after couple years of job experience and to earn at-least a master's degree in geophysics, engineering physics, theoretical physics, or geological engineering. I also plan to gain a deeper understanding of a field related to applied geophysics and to conduct scientific research in that field. In other words, I want to learn more advanced material that is similar to geophysics and to become a advance worker in the global society.

Outside the classroom

1. Practice piano
2. Play Guitar
3. Practice Trumpet
4. Bike or exercise
5. Read challenging books
6. Solve several challenging math and physics problems that would help me learn more material and to remain fresh in math and physics.
7. Creative writing
