About
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Winona State University in May of 2007 and started my first nursing job in July of 2007 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The first year and a half of my career was spent on a general medicine and nephrology floor. In November of 2008 I transferred to a hematology, oncology, and bone/marrow transplant unit floor. I also spent a few months working on a post-partum unit, but ultimately returned to Hem/Onc/BMT where I am currently working as I complete graduate school. I am currently in my final, clinical year of graduate school with plans to graduate in early May of 2016 with a Master's Degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) focus.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My ultimate career goal is to work at as a primary care provider in a family medicine clinic, ideally in a rural area. I am passionate about health promotion and prevention of co-morbidities, such as obesity, type-2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. I enjoy working with individuals of all age groups and desire to provide care to patients throughout their life. I also look forward to providing care to an entire family unit, and I believe that by fostering trusting relationships with my future patients I will be best able to care for their healthcare needs and provide them with holistic, patient-centered care.
