Danielle Smith-Walker

I received my undergraduate degree in sports & event management from Elon University. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in sports management at the University of Southern Mississippi and also a volunteer coach for the universities volleyball program, but my ultimate dream is to coach at the collegiate level, on a full-time basis. I am a former volleyball player, who has never lost her desire to play and help others grow in the sport. I have experience on both sides of the ball and understand the complexities of women volleyball players. My education coupled with workplace experience have provided valuable skills and knowledge, including management, teaching techniques, recovery and training programs knowledge, which can be used at the collegiate level. Equally beneficial for the role is my experience as a head volleyball coach for high school and club programs, in addition to 4 years of experience working as a volleyball camp counselor at Elon University. Also, in my former role at the Greensboro Sportsplex, I have gained additional knowledge about managing people, fundraising and budgeting. I am enthusiastic, results orientated, organized and hardworking. My motivation, great sense of humor and positive nature enable me to relate to people at all levels and ages, and I often prove to be a great role model for young athletes.
