About

I have over 13 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising environments and have served on various boards at both the community and state levels, most of which to advocate and support people with disabilities.

Currently, I serve on The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council (an organization dedicated to advancing the inclusion of Marylanders with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life). Council members are appointed by the Governor to establish the priorities of the Council and help guide the Council’s work.

I have a son with autism and an intellectual disability and feel strongly that all children should learn and play together. I support my son, a US Paralympic Team member and swimmer, to advocate for himself and I focus on advocating for people with disabilities and their families. I am a graduate of the Southern MD LEADers program ( parent leader program to develop leadership skills among parents of children with special health care needs) and am active in a variety of local committees. I aim to be part of systems change and spread awareness about inclusive practices so that all facets of community life – school, work, social activities – welcome people with developmental disabilities.

My most recent professional experiences include launching a nonprofit, the Accessibility Bridge Corporation, 9 years at Georgetown University in the Office of Advancement and 2 years at Catholic Charities as a Major Gift Officer.

My institutions of higher learning include Penn State University (Human Development and Human Studies), North Carolina State University (Business Management) and Georgetown University (Liberal Studies).
