About

Derrick A DesVignes
November 30, 2016
Perfection
I have a plan that can never fail. When I was going through high school, I thought that I would be attending a two-year college doing regular paper homework where I can do my best; in contrast, I thought I would never have a good opportunity like running track which has helped me to reach my goals and vision. Over the past years I had made many achievements and accomplishments. However, none of what I achieved are in which is as clever as my plan. The “P.M.D. Theory for Perfection” is the name of my plan.
I was a star athlete in cross-country and outdoor/indoor track & field. At Forest Park Senior High School, I had run track and participated in the Maryland State Championships five times. I have won many awards such as two third place metals at the Freddie Hendricks relays. Next, I have won second place at the Druid Hill Park Run and in the 3200 meter relay at the Class 1A Regional Indoor track. Then, I won first place in the Walter Cole 3000 meter race at the Carver relay event. When I first ran for the school in 2007, I had won thirteenth place in the three mile cross-country Class 1A Regional Boys Meet with the time of 19:11.8. Now, I can run a five minute mile and I can run three miles in 17 minutes.
My academic career is a great success. I had transferred to Morgan State University from Baltimore City Community College as a Computer Science Transfer student. I had transferred with a G.P.A. of 3.25 with 12 credits. Last year, I had won the Delegate Shawn Z Tarrant Scholarship for $1000 and the Senator Catherine E Pugh Scholarship for $2000. Now, I had received an A on my INTRO TO COMPUTER SCIENCE I and HEALTHFUL LIVING Fall med-term grade; in addition, I had received a B on my INTRO TO COMPUTER SCIENCE II and HIST OF THE UNITED STATES I Spring med-term grade.
Final, I achieved the “P.M.D. Theory for Perfection.” My clever plan is my Motto. It stands for preparation gives motivation which gets you determination. This motto brings out the spirit in me and others. This plan helped achieve grades like an A from being proactive in my school work doing homework ahead of time. Motivation gives me the capability to say, “I’m not a quitter, I’m smart not stupid, and I can finish this work on time.” And the result of my Preparation and Motivation gives me my determination that I will not fail.
I believe that you should accept me because I know that I can contribute to your already rich legacy. I am persistent in my belief that I can achieve my goals as becoming a software architect. Later at Morgan State University, I plan to pursue running Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field in the 2016 Olympics.
