About

I am from a small town in West Texas. I moved to San Angelo, TX shortly after my high school graduation in 2010. I graduated from Angelo State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Social Work and minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I am currently a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker in the state of Texas. License Number #59682. I did my Field Education in an Investigative/Family Based Services Unit for Child Protective Services during my last year of Undergrad. I spent the year after my Undergrad doing some over seas traveling and spending quality time with my family and friends. I then was hired by CPS in San Angelo, TX as a Conservatorship Specialist in the Spring of 2015 where I am still currently employed. In the Spring of 2016 I moved from working directly in San Angelo to the rural counties surrounding. I enjoy building relationships with the small town providers and law enforcement. I am currently enrolled in the University of Texas at Arlington Masters of Social Work program. I am seeking a degree in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Direct Practice.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am currently employed by the State of Texas as a Conservatorship Specialist for Child Protective Services. I intend to move from San Angelo, TX to San Antonio, TX in the next two years. I currently have many potential career paths which I would like to consider pursuing. I am interested in working for the VA. I have family, friends, and my significant other who are either current or prior military service members. I have witnessed first hand the struggles our military men and women face when they out process and would be very interested in pursuing a career in assisting them with this process. I have also taken an interest in the legal process through my direct work in the legal system as a Conservatorship worker. I have been able to assist families in understanding the legal verbiage used in the court room and by their very own attorneys over the past year and a half.
