Eleana Muñoz Plata

I've been studying within the Psychology field since my BA (2006 - 2011). During my Masters I had the opportunity to work with Special Education Students at all kinds of cognitive and social/functional levels. I became very interested in the Autism community and everything that has to do with the development of the child/student inside the school. This includes but does not limit to: parents, therapists, teachers, bus drivers, learning experiences and the transition to an adult life. I've been working with Special Education students for almost 4 years and it's a very hard but rewarding career. Never the less, I'm very interested in working with adolescents and adults once I become licensed in Puerto Rico. As a future project I would like to work with the non -verbal community that emerges from a different array of mental health conditions and or symptoms. In other for me to do that, I'm learning ASL, since I want to be able to implement this as an option for non - verbal (hearing) children, as a form of communication.
