Elena Caballero

My name is Elena Caballero and I am 19 years old. I attend Fordham University and I plan on majoring in New Media & Digital Design with a concentration in Art, Text, & Design. I also plan to minor in Marketing with a concentration in Consumer Insights and minor in Visual Arts with a focus on Graphic Design. My interests include songwriting, singing, playing guitar, performing and reading. I am creative, hardworking, and I strive to be a leader within my community. Throughout my high school career, I have been a part of the student government as well as assisted in various fundraisers. I have studied abroad in Denmark which was part of a student exchange program and hosted Danish students. I have taken several college accredited courses at Baruch College while in high school, including Finance and Psychology. I interned for my principal and organized several events, including a freshman class trip. I participated in an internship with the Torch Program that was mostly at JWT, an advertising firm. They taught us different aspects of advertising, we learned about the process of a public service announcement from inception, film, editing, and presentation. My team and I created a PSA to help homeless LGBT youth in New York City for the Ali Forney Center. The campaign was done in contribution to this non-profit organization. I was a member of the 52nd Street Project for 6 years, which is a nonprofit acting and playwriting program. This year and past years I have volunteered at numerous nonprofit organizations from either performing or lending a helping hand. Which includes: The 52nd Street Project, Artists for Creative Theater, Revolucion Latina, The Lupus Foundation, WNE (Women's Networking Emporium), and The National Conference of Puerto Rican Women (I am also a member).
