Goals and interests
- Career goal
I plan to pursue a career in medicine, with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon committed to patient centered care that combine both physical and psychological wellbeing. Inspired by my research into the emotional impact of medical diagnoses, I have come to understand that neurological conditions affect far more than the body, they shape identity, cognition, and quality of life.
As an aspiring neurosurgeon, I yearn to combine surgical precision with empathy, ensuring that patients facing complex neurological difficulties and challenges feel supported both medically and emotionally. Through high quality care, research, and community advocacy, I hope to contribute to improving access to specialized neurological care and increasing outcomes for undeserved populations.- Graduate school interests
In graduate school, I intend to focus on neuroscience and clinical research related to neurological disorders. Particularly I am interested in exploring and understanding how structural and functional changes in the brain affect cognition, behavior and emotional wellbeing. This builds on my previous research into the psychological impact of diagnoses, with this I hope to further investigate the intersection between neurological conditions and mental health outcomes.
My academic goal is to develop a strong foundation in translational research that bridges laboratory discoveries with surgical and clinical applications.- Outside the classroom
Creative & Artistic Expression
Creative Writer/Poet & Visual Artist | 2024 – Present & 2011 - Present
Alongside my scientific and leadership pursuits, I engage actively in creative expression through writing, poetry, and visual arts. My work often explores social and emotional themes, using storytelling and imagery to foster empathy and reflection. Through poetry, I capture human experiences and translate complex emotions into words, while my art both digital and traditional serves as a visual exploration of identity, resilience, and perspective. These creative outlets have strengthened my ability to communicate ideas with clarity and compassion, bridging analytical thinking with artistic sensitivity in ways that enhance both my research and community engagement.Cultural & Linguistic Engagement

As a Digital Designer for the SOAR Initiative, I played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's communication of its mission and engagement with its audience. I led the development of visual content for various programs and campaigns, ensuring that each design was both engaging and meaningful. My approach was rooted in empathy, recognizing that effective communication begins with a thorough understanding of those it aims to serve. Every graphic, post, and promotional material was created with the intent of inspiring confidence, opportunity, and growth among young participants. Through strategic thinking and creative execution, I contributed to strengthening SOAR’s outreach efforts and increasing its impact. This role enabled me to combine leadership with service by utilizing design as a tool to empower others and support a cause dedicated to helping young people realize their full potential.
