About

I am currently a freshman about to start my second semester of college. I have long been a passionate musician and this is why I have chosen to pursue music as a career in college. I am working towards a double major in Cello Performance and Music Education. The specific classes I have taken and will continue to take to enhance my musicianship are: Music Theory, Aural Skills, Group Piano, Orchestra, Private Cello Lessons, and Cello Studio. All of these courses plus the many more I have lined up for the following years at the University of Houston, will guide me towards becoming a professional cellist and teacher.

Goals and interests

Career goal

In the future, I see myself as a professional musician, playing in different major orchestras across the globe. I will continue to teach cello, not just privately, but hopefully at the collegiate level someday. I will also continue to play for miscellaneous events and expand my horizons by teaching at summer music festivals.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in continuing my career as a cellist and either studying cello performance or music education in my graduate years. By this time I want to be playing in some pre-professional/professional orchestra. I also envision myself helping out with some kind of non-profit organization by bringing the wealth of music and culture to the underprivileged.

Outside the classroom

I spend most of my free time practicing cello to keep myself in top musical shape. I do like to go out and be active by playing soccer with friends. I also love to read, run, and travel, besides spending quality time with my family.
