Gabriel Martinez

I am a first generation college student. My parents are very hard workers who came to the United States for a better future for our family. They studied as far as they could in their circumstances and have done the best they can to ensure their children receive the best education available. They were able to send me to a boarding academy where I graduated with honors and acquired the 2013 Denise Ross Award for outstanding work ethics. I have worked diligently on earning an Associate degree, and hope to transfer to good university to complete my pre-med requirements. I was introduced to hospitals at an early age as my twin brother was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma. I have a tremendous respect for those who work in the medical field. They actively save lives. Although not all lives are saved, like in the case of my brother, we must try and do our best.
