Goals and interests

Career goal

Upon completion of my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 and my Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering in 2020-2021 intend to go into industry working in research and development for high throughput application specific material design. Ultimately I would like to take on a technical leadership role for materials research and development within a large company that is focused on pushing the boundaries of technology. I am open to working in energy (nuclear, renewable, or fossil fuels), transportation (automotive, aero, etc.), or biomedical industries as long as there is a focus on developing new materials to advance the field.

Graduate school interests

I am currently attending grad school at the Georgia Intstitue of Technology where I am completing a course based masters in mechanical engineers with an expected graduation in mid 2018 and a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering with an expected graduation date in 2020-2021. For my Ph.D. I am working under Dr. David McDowell and my research is focused on integrate computational materials engineering with a focus on high throughput design of metals. For my current project I am focused on microstructure sensitive modelling, and uncertainty quantification therein, of two different material systems for aerospace applications.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include working out, playing basketball, hiking, reading, and I recently started learning how to play guitar.
