About
Everything changed during my junior year when I was enrolled in a civil engineering and surveying class. For the first time, I felt engaged and motivated by what I was learning. I was fascinated by how engineering combines problem-solving, mathematics and technology to design and maintain the structures and systems that communities rely on every day. I realized that civil and geospatial engineering offered me a way to serve society, just in a different uniform than I originally imagined.
Since then, I have fully committed myself to this path. I am currently enrolled in the second year of the advanced civil engineering class, have earned my auto CAD certification and am participating in a work-based cooperative program at Lakewood, where I gain hands-on, field-related experience in engineering through AHS. These opportunities have reinforced my passion for the field and confirmed this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I graduate this May 2026 and have been accepted and will be attending Michigan Tech University fall of 2026 and majoring in Civil/Geospatial Engineering.
