Grayson Hueser

My name is Grayson Hueser and I am a Sustainable Food Systems student at Arizona State University online. I grew up in Colorado where my father worked in management for a utility company and my mother worked as an administrator in a school district. I participated in music classes in school and began majoring in music before my career interests began pointing toward science, at which point I began attending Arizona State and the School of Sustainability.
I chose to major in Sustainable Food Systems because of the program's emphasis on equity as well as the environment and economy. There is room for improvement in many areas of the food system, whether at the local, regional, or global scale. The opportunity to contribute to sustainable development in such a critical aspect of our society is very exciting.
Today I live in Southern California with my fiancee where we are continuing our studies and beginning our family. Receiving high quality education online has been very helpful to us because it has promoted meaningful learning without the constraints of on-campus life, allowing us to focus on our passions and our future. I am still involved in music through the marching arts. I was a percussionist in various drum and bugle corps and am now an instructor.
