About

I am currently a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a career as a nurse anesthetist. I grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina and was very involved with my community from an early age. Throughout high school, I volunteered as a small group leader at Port City Community Church, was an active member and executive leader of the Azalea Festival Youth Committee, participate and led multiple school groups, and was an active athlete. The accomplishment that I am most proud of is my founding of a breast cancer nonprofit. Through my partnership with the Pretty in Pink Foundation and my involvement with my nonprofit, I found my passion for helping people. As I shadowed various parties and considered my career options, I decided that becoming a nurse anesthestist would provide an ideal pathway for me to pursue my passion of helping people.

Career goal

I intend to complete nursing school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then to work in either a Duke or Carolina branch hospital as an ICU nurse for two years. This two-year interim period is required for anesthetist graduate school. After my two years, I intend to apply to Duke University's anesthetist graduate program and obtain my CRNA certification.

Graduate school interests

I plan to attend Duke University's nurse anesthetist graduate program.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy a very active lifestyle. I am an avid volleyball player, and also enjoy soccer. I workout regularly, and will never turn down an offer to go on a run in a new place. I have a passion for people, and enjoy helping others at any chance I get. I love the beach, and love spending time with my friends and family.
