About

I am passionate about my studies and pray continuously that God will lead me to make a positive difference in my community. In 2019, I was diagnosed with metastatic thyroid carcinoma. As a young mother, this news shook my world. I thought back on my life and knew that I needed to leave a great legacy behind me one day. That pushed me to pursue my dreams and raise my children knowing that anyone can accomplish any goal that they believe in and work hard for. Although my health is an every day struggle, I continue to push ahead on this journey and put my very best foot forward. I absolutely love the path I’ve taken and I feel like I’m exactly where I belong when I’m in the midst of my internship at the local medical center.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I intend to strive for a permanent position at my internship location which is currently at a local hospital. I thrive in this type of environment and I witness daily how important the social work department is. This is especially true within the two units I work in. I intern in the intensive care unit and the intensive care step down unit. Patients that I see are typically there following a life changing illness or accident. These individuals are at a heightened sense of vulnerability and benefit heavily from someone simply being by their side so they aren’t battling alone for the moment.

Graduate school interests

I intend to continue my education with Ohio University in hopes to obtain a masters degree in social work. This profession is near and dear to my heart. I wish to help everyone that I possibly can.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy writing, studying, spending time with my family including my cat, playing video games, learning hands on automotive mechanics, interning at the local hospital, singing, and painting.
