About

Hello, my name is Irandy Reyes a student attending the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. I'm studying Performance Modern Dance with a minor in Psychology. I was born in California but spent the first 6 years of my life in Mexico, but have lived in Oklahoma for most of my life. Dance has always been part of my life, I started at the age of 3 and by the age of twelve decided to see it as my profession. As I was growing and advancing in my dance technique many of my directors encourage to pursue it as a career. I have studied various dance genres while in high school such as Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Flamenco, Mexican Folkloric and Tap. A big challenge that I have overcome throughout the years was the language barrier, as English is my second language and Spanish my first. Dance has helped me endure and become adaptable, I have met many people because of dance and been given opportunities because of it. I still work hard in my academic classes as I do in my dance classes as my family and I value education.
