Hello my name is Ivana Watson, and I’m a adult with ADHD. In 2004, after graduating from high school, three months later I started college and experienced numerous challenges. When you lack the necessary resources to support your success, managing depression and social anxiety can be quite frightening. I hadn't acquired the skills I need to succeed as I do now, so when the college dropped me, I believed my future was over. I had no idea that I could attend classes online and succeed; everything is self-paced, and I can see that the academic counselors genuinely care about my progress. Through the years and time off I learned I could achieve my goals and now that I have a strong support network life has been a breeze. Ever since my earliest memories, I have been aware of my life's purpose. My life's work has always been to make people's lives better. I feel so good when I’ve genuinely helped a person. I have to admit that I was born to be an entrepreneur. I have always loved business and technology. I recently received my license as an esthetician in the state of Nevada after graduating from Euphoria Institute of Beauty Arts & Science. My goals are to construct one of the biggest online beauty spas that is easily reachable by people worldwide after graduating from DeVry University. As a Software Development major, I think the abilities I'm learning today will be invaluable and unique to me. Following my recovery from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, my grade point average has remained at 4.0, which I’m working really hard to keep. Since completing beauty school, I've overcome my social anxiety and feel completely at ease in social situations.

My passion for computers, skincare, and business has inspired me to begin producing my own skincare products and devices and automating labor-intensive tasks on my websites. My goal is to create a website and application that allows a customer using a computer or phone to scan their skin and receive the most accurate skin care information. The site or app will direct the customer to products or services needed to correct skin flaws and abnormalities, all from the comfort of their own home. I plan to start drop shipping products from my manufactures and once my company starts producing at a steady rate I will then Manufacture everything myself. My goal is to inform customers and clients about non-invasive skin care techniques. My areas of expertise include IPL hair removal and LED light therapy; my IPL machines also function as photo facial devices. Stretch marks, wrinkles from sun exposure, and many other skin issues can be treated with IPL photo facials. Being the largest organ on our body, our skin provides us with immense protection. My goal is to educate others on self-care and self-treatment techniques. I've been working really hard to build my vision since the COVID shut down. When covid shut everything down lots of people had no way to get to their esthetician and there are no online method such as the one I’m building. These difficulties lead me to wanting to help people in this way. I have self-taught myself with the assistance of virtual mentors through YouTube and libraries. June and July are when my web development classes begin. This grant will enable me to pay off my student loans much more quickly, allowing me to devote more time to developing and learning how to program as soon as I graduate and am certified.
