About

My name is James Kenney and I am currently a sophomore at East Carolina University majoring in Rehabilitation Services and minoring in Psychology. I am a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer with aspirations of assisting my fellow veterans whom suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse disorders upon my graduation. Further, I will be seeking employment with a Veterans Administration (VA) hospital or veterans center as a counsellor. As a veteran who has been diagnosed with PTSD, I have made it my new mission in life to assist in the mitigation of the epidemic of suicide in the veteran community. With the quality education provided by ECU and the hard work and determination learned from the faculty, I will utilize my education to the best of my ability to provide a beacon of hope to those who so desperately seek it after surrendering so much to a grateful country.
