About

I have chosen the field of social work because of a deep commitment to supporting children and adolescents, particularly within the school system. I believe that schools are not just places of academic learning, but also environments where emotional, social, and psychological development take place. My passion for becoming a school social worker stems from a desire to help students overcome challenges that may hinder their ability to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Throughout my life, I have witnessed how factors such as poverty, family instability, bullying, and mental health struggles can deeply affect a student’s performance and well-being. I’ve seen students with great potential fall behind simply because they lacked someone to advocate for them, listen to them, or help them access necessary support. These experiences planted the seed for my interest in school social work, where I can directly intervene in ways that empower students to reach their full potential.

My goal is to be a resource and advocate for students facing barriers to their education. I want to create a safe, supportive space where students feel heard and valued. Whether it’s helping a child cope with trauma, connecting a family to community resources, or working with teachers to develop strategies for inclusive education, I am committed to addressing the many issues that can impact a student’s success. I am especially passionate about promoting mental health awareness within schools and ensuring that no student feels alone in their struggles.

Ultimately, I view social work in schools as a calling—to stand alongside students, advocate for their needs, and help create a learning environment where every child has the opportunity to grow, heal, and succeed. It is a role that blends compassion with action, and I am ready to meet that responsibility with heart, integrity, and unwavering dedication.

Outside the classroom

Outside of my professional interests, I enjoy living an active and well-rounded life. I love traveling and exploring new places, which allows me to gain fresh perspectives and recharge. Some of my favorite activities include kayaking, biking, and working out—all of which help me stay grounded and energized. One of my greatest joys is spending time with my daughter and supporting her passion for dance, which has become a special part of our bond. At home, our bulldog adds a lot of fun and personality to our lives. I also deeply value quality time with my family and friends, whose support and presence are central to my well-being.
