About
Jon C. Vander Werff is an avid outdoorsman who received his Bachelor's of Technology in Wildlife Management and a concentration in Fisheries from the State University of New York at Cobleskill in 2015. He is currently a Master's candidate at the University of Rhode Island where he is studying Watershed Management. For the past three field seasons Jon has been employed as a Professional Fly Fishing Guide in the greater Yellowstone and Grand Teton area in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. This position furthered a strong passion for Jon and influenced him to study stream restoration, dam removal and fish passage in graduate school.

- Career goal
Jon intends to follow a career path which leads him in the direction of Stream Restoration, where he intends to focus on improving fish habitat through dam removal and fish passage.
- Graduate school interests
While in Graduate School, Jon's interests include but are not limited to, stream restoration for improving fish habitat and spawning areas while studying and exploring dam removal and fish passage.
- Outside the classroom
Jon is extremely passionate about fly fishing. When he is not studying or in the classroom he can be found hiking up streams in search of new desirable fishing locations.
