Karina Zaharieva

As a dedicated student-athlete at Clear Lake High School, I’ve committed myself to both academic excellence and athletic leadership. I currently serve as the Varsity Tennis Captain and hold the #1 position on the team, having gone to regionals all 3 years so far consistently pushed myself and my teammates to compete at the highest level. Tennis has shaped my discipline, competitive drive, and ability to perform under pressure.

Academically, I am proud to be a Superintendent Scholar every year, maintaining an A average throughout high school. I am a member of all major honor societies, including the National Honor Society (NHS), Math National Honor Society (MNHS), Science National Honor Society (SNHS), and English National Honor Society (ENHS). These recognitions reflect my deep commitment to learning across multiple disciplines.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve developed strong leadership and professional skills through two years in DECA, where I was honored as a DECA Finalist, and two years in Business Professionals of America (BPA), earning the title of BPA Nationalist. My passion for science and innovation also led me to participate in the Science Fair, where I explored research-driven solutions with real-world impact.

I currently serve as the Vice President of Key Club, helping lead initiatives that serve both my school and local community. Additionally, I’m an active volunteer with STEM Siblings, mentoring younger students and promoting STEM education.
