About

Although I was born in Texas, I have lived in a small town in middle Tennessee since I was one year old. A few of my favorite hobbies include reading, cooking, baking, painting, and crocheting. In my household, I am the oldest between my younger sister and myself. However, I am simultaneously the second youngest out of all seven of my siblings. It is a very complicated situation with the half, full, and step-sibling situation but our bond is as strong as any. My parents divorced when I was seven years old which made things very hard on my sister and me, but it made me who I am today. It taught me responsibility, communication, and organization skills. Those skills along with hard work and a lot of studying led me to be the editorial manager of the yearbook staff, have a cumulative GPA of 3.9828 in high school and place fourth overall in my graduating class. Furthermore, these accomplishments allowed me to become a member of not only the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars but also a student at the University of Tennessee. Education-wise, my goal is to graduate college with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. From there, I plan to become a pediatric oncology nurse at a pediatric cancer research center such as Saint Jude's. I have seen how cancer can affect not only the person who has it but also their family. I want to be able to help them in whatever way I can. Although the job is not easy physically or emotionally, it would be worth it if I could ease even a little of their suffering.
